Local & International transactions

We have acted on various local and international debt financing transactions and act (or have previously acted) for corporate borrowers, some of New Zealand’s major banks and various other financiers.​
​We have acted on various notable transactions including:
  • ​Acted for a major New Zealand supermarket group in respect of its bank funding including advising in respect of a syndicated NZ$300 million multi option facility and a NZ$100 million working capital facility granted by a panel of New Zealand banks and security trustee arrangements granted in favour of the lenders.
  • Advised on NZ $1.05 billion RFP for banking services in November 2013 for a major supermarket group. This involved the restructure of existing security structures, conversion to negative pledge group structure and negotiation of changes in security structure.
  • Acted for the New Zealand guaranteeing companies of a major infrastructure provider in respect of the issue of US$325 million High Yield Bonds and the cross-border refinancing of its existing loan facilities. The total transactions in excess of NZ$100 million also involved working with Australia, USA, Chile and Canada.
  • Advised on the funding of the acquisition of an international group including New Zealand Limited Partnerships producing carbon fibre spars. The total cross border financing transactions were in excess of US$76 million and involved entities in the USA and South Africa.
  • Acted for various finance companies on their mortgagee sale and debt recovery work in connection with their finance lending during the global financial crisis.
